Submission and review of the thesis
Submission, templates and forms
You need to submit following documents to the StudienServiceCenter Chemie:
- Your thesis (in paper and electronically) including the cover sheet "Doctoral Programme (SL/011)" (comments to the cover sheet); formal requirements have to be respected, therefore please take a look at this information sheet,
- where applicable: CV and a publication list of all suggested external reviewers,
- "Attachment to the annual report – Transcript (DZ/V3)"
- "Assignment of a thesis to reviewers (SL/D3)",
- "Assignment of a thesis to reviewers - Abstract (SL/D4)" and
- "Doctoral Thesis Submission (SL/D6)".
All documents can be submitted either in English or in German (German forms).

Public defense
Registration for public defense
With the positive assessment of the doctoral thesis and when all demands of the curriculum have been met a registration for the public defense is possible.
For this purpose, the registration form "Registration for doctoral thesis defense (Defensio) (SL/P4)" needs to be send to the StudienServiceCenter Chemie.
The public defense consists of a presentation of the central findings followed by a general discussion about the research subject with the examination commission.
The procedure of the public defense at Faculty of Chemistry is generally as follows:
After the positively assessed public defense the academic title according to the curriculum is awarded.
