DoSChem participation in the 41st Vienna City Marathon

Congratulations to all our DoSChem students and PIs who participated in the Vienna City Marathon 2024!

It was a cold morning in Vienna on April 21st, the day of the Vienna City Marathon 2024. However, as the sun was rising several DoSChem students and PIs once again gathered their running shoes and took off to the starting line and nothing less than a fantastic running day should follow! DoSChem was able to sponsor several relays, where four people share the full marathon distance of 42.195 km as part of our teambuilding/networking activities.  We are very happy that all our relays made it to the finish line, showcasing that our students and PIs do not only have tremendous endurance when it comes to research!

After the running was over we obviously had to celebrate with food and drinks in a post-marathon gathering!

We also want to thank the Betriebliche Gesundheitsförderung (BGF) of the Uni Wien for contributing funding and running shirts for our teams. Finally, we also want to thank Julia, Hòa and Moritz for behind the scene support for our runners and all student representatives (Hòa, Moritz, Christina and Chiara) for the organisation of the event!

PhD Students' as Ceramic Artists

In May, our students chose an interactive, hands-on workshop at "Made by you" ceramics manufacture for their social get-together activity and let their inner artist shine with claymates!

They explored their creative side alongside fellow studnets and PIs by painting nad personalizing their mugs and ceramic piesces!

We hope this bonding event (38 participants) was fun and that the participants not only took their own artwork home, but also made some new connections!

In the end, the painting session was rounded off with socializing and networking at "The Golden Harp", an Irish pub.

Kickoff at the Danube

16 July 2024

  • Summer in Danube: Our PhD students recently traded their study desks for sun loungers as they escaped the soaring office temperatures for a day of fun and relaxation on the Danube Island.

With cool drinks in hand and the sun shining, they enjoyed delicious food, lively conversations, and friendly competition in volleyball, padel tennis, spikeball, and frisbee. It was the perfect opportunity to unwind, recharge, and strengthen team bonds.
